14 Republican Congress members still think McCain sucks
At least 14 Republican members of Congress have refused to endorse John McCain's candidacy, and their reasons are all over the map. Some think McCain's too liberal, others say he's too conservative, and still others are just trying to make sure they have as much distance as possible from President Bush, and they don't want to endorse the only guy in America who wishes the Iraq war would never ever end.
A spokesman for Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) said that Tancredo won't endorse McCain because he figures McCain will just reject the endorsement like he did with Pastor John Hagee. You remember Hagee. His endorsement was rejected by McCain after it came out that he thinks Hitler was a hunter sent by God to hunt down Jews.
If Tancredo thinks McCain will reject his endorsement, does that mean he's planning to finally tell the world what he thinks Hitler was, and he doesn't want his endorsement of McCain to get in the way of this big announcement? McCain is just going to have to play it safe and let people feel like they can endorse his candidacy without having to hide their feelings that Hitler was "God's shortstop" or "Jesus' personal valet" or whatever. Open the doors McCain. Let every crazy in.
